A MAN has been arrested following a car crash on Tuesday evening.
Largs Police confirmed that the 52-year-old was arrested after the incident on the A78 - but was later released without charge.
We reported yesterday that there was a car crash near St Phillain's on the coastal road, south of the Meigle, on Tuesday evening.
Nobody was injured in the incident but the police then carried out a search.
A police spokesman said: "A 52-year-old man was arrested in connection with alleged road traffic offices. He was released without charge pending further enquiry."
The A78 was closed between Largs and Skelmorlie from around 9.45pm until shortly before 11pm to allow for recovery of the vehicle.
Temporary traffic lights were put in place at Knock Castle due to barrier damage following the crash.
