Organisers of the Largs Prom parkrun are urging locals to get their running shoes on after the success of the London Marathon.

The parkrun on the seafront has proved a huge success since it started last year, and organiser Alan Cowan is urging more people to get involved.

He said: “If you are watching the London Marathon and are inspired to start or get more active, we have the perfect opportunity here in Largs.

“The course is flat and marshals are positioned along the course to ensure everyone’s safety.”

More than 48,000 runners took on the London race on Sunday, April 23 - up from 40,643 in 2022.

The 5km Largs course starts at 9.30am every Saturday.
