A major road into Skelmorlie is to close for more than two weeks for vital resurfacing works.

Station Road, which connects the village with the A78 trunk road, will be closed between 9am and 5pm each weekday from Monday, May 15 until Wednesday, May 31.

Signed diversion routes will be in place for the duration of the works, which will see the entire length of the road closed, between the A78 and the junction with Skelmorlie Castle Road/Longhill.

Outwith those hours, the road will be open as normal.

The closure was revealed in a public social media post by North Coast independent councillor Ian Murdoch, though it has yet to be published on North Ayrshire Council's roadworks page.
