Police in West Kilbride are hunting thieves who broke into a house in the village while its owners were overseas.

The property in Corsehill Drive was targeted between February 19 and March 18, while the occupiers were in Spain.

A police report compiled for a meeting of West Kilbride Community Council stated: “On making their way into their home, the occupier discovered that their master bedroom had been broken into.

“The bedroom window had been smashed, the furniture had been moved and it appeared ransacked.

“None of the other rooms in the property were disturbed.

"Police enquires are ongoing.”
