A STUNNING timelapse video showing the Northern Lights dancing in the skies above Largs and Fairlie has been shared by a reader of the News.
The weather phenomenon thrilled onlookers across Ayrshire with its bright lights, and plenty of our camera club readers snapped pictures of the aurora.
Peter Watkins managed to capture this amazing timelapse showing the lights in action above the Firth of Clyde.
Thanks Peter!
Several apps have sprung up in the UK and overseas in recent years to alert the public to times when conditions are expected to be at their best to watch the Northern Lights or 'aurora borealis' and capture the displays on camera.
These include AuroraWatch UK, My Aurora Forecast, and the Glendale App.
