A pair of popular towns on the Ayrshire coast have been named in a list of the best and worst coastal destinations in Scotland.
The survey by consumer company Which? focussed on the experience of visitors to more than 100 destinations in the past year.
Ayr ranked as the worst Scottish destination on the list, with a score of just 62 per cent, based on hotel prices, beaches, seafront, food, drink and accommodation.
The beach was given four stars out of five, with two stars for the seafront, and food and drink getting three stars.
An average hotel price is £78, with the town not getting a rating for accommodation due to low responses.
Largs received a 65 per cent rating in the survey, with three stars for its beach, two for its seafront and three for its food and drink.
Hotel costs totalled an average of £81, and an accommodation rating could not be given due to low responses.
The best Scots destination was St Andrews in Fife, with an 83 per cent rating by survey participants.
