A giant vessel of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary is the latest arrival at Hunterston jetty.
RFA Tideforce is a support ship for the Royal Navy and contains top-class military communications equipment, and even a helipad.
The ship, at 39,000 tonnes, is one of the biggest of the RFA and provides the navy with support across the globe.

Tideforce entered service with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary in July 2019, the last of her class to do so following sister ships Tidespring, Tiderace and Tidesurge.
The vessel is berthed not far from the St Helena, which the News was shown around last month.
