North Ayrshire Council is hosting a special week of events that will help people access the support they need to get into work or training.

Employability Week will offer a combination of online and community events, which will explain the various services that are available through the Council and various partners.

One of the key events of Employability Week is an open day at Eglinton Community Gardens in Irvine’s Eglinton Park on Tuesday, May 23 from 11am to 3pm.

On the day there will be a barbecue, and attendees can speak to volunteers, trainees and clients who have links to council services and partner organisations.

The next key event is a Modern Apprenticeships recruitment day that takes place on Wednesday, May 24 from 10am to 4pm at Irvine’s Volunteer Rooms in High Street.

All young adults and school and college leavers are invited to attend and discover what opportunities are on offer.

The third key event is a Department for Work and Pensions job fair in Saltcoats Town Hall on Thursday, May 25 from 10am to noon where people can learn more about local vacancies.

Finally, on Friday, May 26 there will be an official launch of the Parent Hub at Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.

The Hub is run by council-funded service We Work for Families, and offers help with housing, gas and electricity bills, access to food bank vouchers, travel passes and help with CVs.
