Largs Thistle players got on their bikes to do some fundraising for the club - and now hope to finish the season in top gear.

Thistle lost out 1-0 to Kilwinning on Saturday which saw their first away defeat since Petershill in early February - and they are looking to bounce back against Rob Roy this evening before Saturday's home clash against Pollok.

Largs put in some pedal power on Sunday to cycle round Cumbrae in the annual club fundraiser with players, management and supporters all enjoying the glorious weather in the fun trip.

And the fun day of cameraderie on Cumbrae - sponsored by Braw and Dapper, and with thanks to Mapes of Millport - will hopefully provide a timely boost for Largs as they head into the big double header.

Thistle are riding high in the Premier League in seventh position and could still finish further up the league.

Davidson said: "We have to roll our sleeves up and finish the season with a swagger so we can feel good about ourselves going into the summer.

"Rob Roy have a lot of energy about themselves. I watched them last week as they drew 0-0 with Kilwinning despite having no keeper after he was red carded early doors. They have a good group of players and are determined so we have to be ready for that. I am expecting a tight game.

"And we want a big turnout for the last game of the season against Pollok on Saturday to applaud the boys for their effort.

"We want the boys to put a show on for the fans who have been fantastic this season; there has been a certain core group of fans who have been there with us every week home and away and they deserve a good performance and result.

"The players know that the display against Kilwinning was not good enough so let's see if we can get a reaction."

Defender Connor McGoldrick is still missing from action with injury while midfielder Simon McBryde was suspended after his red card versus Hurlford United.

Looking back at the 1-0 defeat to Buffs, Davison said: "We didn't make a lot of chances and neither did Kilwinning - I don't think we played well and we didn't have the edge that we have recently had. People might say it is the end of the season and it is okay but we set high standards and it was disappointing.

"The players played a bit too within themselves and weren't on the front foot and not as confident on the ball.

"There are no excuses.

"There was no pressure on us and a lot of pressure on Kilwinning and fair play to them they managed to grind out a victory. It wasn't just about us - Kilwinning stopped us as well.

"The last time we had two weeks off we came back and beat Hurlford and Auchinleck - so we can't use the week and a half break from action as an excuse.

"We don't want the season to dwindle out after all our efforts - we want to finish with a flourish and look to win our last two games against Rob Roy and Pollok as the boys have worked so hard this season."

Next game: Tonight - Rob Roy v Largs Thistle, 7.30pm kick off at Guys Meadow, Cumbernauld.
