Largs boss Stuart Davidson says he wants players and supporters alike to do their bit to make sure the season ends on a high note.

Thistle face Glasgow giants Pollok at Barrfields on Saturday in their final game of the season - and Davidson says he wants his players to keep their standards up after Wednesday's win over Rob Roy.

Davidson is also hoping for a big turnout of fans after a superb second half of the season for Largs, who will finish sixth if they win.

Pollok are traditionally tough opponents, but Largs will have no fear, having recently overcome top guns Auchinleck and Hurlford at Barrfields.

The two teams fought out a highly competitive goalless draw at Newlandsfield in the second game of the season way back in early August - but Largs have more firepower in their ranks now following the addition of Will Sewell and David Ramsay.

Davidson said: "It is a big carrot to get sixth position - you don't get any trophies for it, but I do like to set ourselves wee targets.

"First and foremost was staying in the league - and to think we could now finish in the top six goes to show we have gone about our business the right way.

"Now we want to finish off the job.

"Pollok are a top team with loads of quality; they will bring a good crowd and I am anticipating a really good game.

"It would be good to get a really good turnout from the Largs supporters on Saturday - and we want to give it our best shot to finish in the top six."

Largs recorded a 1-0 win at Rob Roy on Wednesday courtesy of a second half Craig Forbes goal.

The game saw the return of Connor McGoldrick to defence after a lengthy injury lay-off and visit to the States.

Saturday's match gets under way at Barrfields at 2pm.
