Police in Ayrshire have issued a warning over cold callers trying to scare people into paying for new insulation.
Officers say cold callers are providing misleading information in the region about the safety of householders’ existing loft insulation.
A spokesperson said: "They may say that it is toxic - and try to scare people into paying for expensive and unnecessary new insulation.
"Always seek an impartial opinion."
