A popular West Kilbride festival will not go ahead this year after “lengthy deliberation”.
The Scarecrow Festival, which was first held in 2005, is an annual event on the village calendar and is highly anticipated by residents and visitors.
The popular event sees families and businesses display handmade scarecrows in their windows and gardens, along with a number of smaller activities during the first week of August.
However, organisers have pulled the plug on this year’s festivities, but say they hope to be back next year.
A spokesperson said: “Following lengthy deliberation, and due to a lack of resources, we regret to advise that West Kilbride Scarecrow Festival will not take place in 2023.
“We hope that circumstances will be different next year.”
