The owner of a popular Ayrshire ice cream van is urging drivers to slow down around the vehicle in case children are running around.
Frank's Ices, which runs across Ayrshire, took to social media over the weekend to warn motorists about the dangers of driving too fast around ice cream vans.
He said: "This weekend has been the worst we have seen in a while for cars, vans etc speeding past the van whilst parked.
"A stationary ice cream van means children running out from behind or the front of the van, they don't see or hear you.
"I see an injured child laying crumpled on the road screaming in pain. It's not your fault; the child should have been looking, but the trouble is they are only children.
"Do your bit and please drive with extreme caution when passing stationary ice cream vans.
"Summer is on its way and more vans will be out on the roads attracting more children."
