An arrest has been made in connection with several alleged break-ins in business and private properties in Largs.
Police Scotland have confirmed that a man aged 38 was apprehended and charged in relation to the alleged crimes.
The male, who is understood not to be from Largs, was expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday, May 17.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers responded to a report yesterday morning of a person acting suspiciously in the Phillips Avenue area of Largs.
"A 38-year-old male was arrested, and following further reports regarding crimes of dishonesty, the male has been charged with housebreaking and several other thefts.
"Largs Locality Officers and Ayrshire CID have recovered stolen property and returned it to its rightful owners."
