The HMS Elizabeth aircraft carrier was spotted sailing down the Firth of Clyde earlier this afternoon.
The mammoth military vessel was returning to open waters following a visit to Glenmallen ahead of operations throughout 2023.
The aircraft carrier departed Portsmouth earlier this week following preperations for her next deployment.
A Royal Navy said: "HMS Queen Elizabeth has left Portsmouth Naval Base and is now at sea conducting routine exercises."
The vessel was previously in the area back in February, when she visited Glenmallen to reload armaments and refuel.
The Royal Navy aircraft carrier has recently taken over responsibility as the flagship of the fleet.
