Largs Events: Largs Dogs Day Out details unveiled by local group

The Largs Events voluntary group will be hosting the first ever Largs Dogs Day Out event in the town on Sunday, June 11.

Event chairman Ian Murdoch says the event is "pawsitively exciting" - and that a team of volunteers, including former community councillor John Knowles, has done a "pedigree job" in organising the event.

Ian said: "This exciting, free, fun day for all the family is brought to you by Largs Events in collaboration with Largs market organisers SHS Events. 

"Sunday, June 11 will see the first ever Largs Dogs Day Out - yes, a day just for your furry family member, with stalls full of dog treats, fashion, foods  and shopping stalls for everyone."

Deborah Fleming from Crufts will be running a companion dog show with entries open to all dog owners.

Sign ups will be from 10am with the first class at 12pm.

Entry is £3 per dog and a further £1.50 for every class entered - so if you think you have “best in breed” or “prettiest pup”, now's your chance to sign up for a relaxed fun completion and win your dog a rosette.

There will also be demonstrations and dog experts on hand through out the day.

The event will be held on the grass esplanade next to Nardini's.

Ian added: "We are really excited - and think this is going to be a great day which will be very popular with the dog walking community of Largs.

"The town is of course well known for having a numbe of cafes, restaurants and bars which are open to dogs - so it seemed a great way to give the local area a tourism boost.

"We hope that this is just the start of a number of events that our group will be bringing to this area - and we hope that the Largs Dogs Day Out is a big success and will be repeated in future years."
