Pupils at Largs Academy gave up their phones as part of an innovative 'digital detox'.
S2 pupils volunteered to hand over their mobiles for a break time to go without their devices.
A school spokesperson said: "S2s are learning digital literacy skills where they saw that phones give them lots of these skills, but they also reduce other skills.
"At break some made up a game, talked & socialised with none in view."
