Largs Academy first years were involved in an exciting cup final last night, narrowly losing out on penalties.
Despite the defeat, parents took to social media to say how they were "bursting with pride" at the performance as the S1 kids lost at the last gasp - and it was a great experience reaching the showpiece occasion, on which the pupils will be able to build in future.
An Academy spokesperson said: "Well done to the S1 football team, who were absolutely magnificent in the Ayrshire Cup Final.
"Sadly, after a 3-3 draw they lost to Robert Burns Academy on penalties."
The goalscorers were Jamie Jack and Junior Johansson.
The Academy Twitter account listed Man of the Match as "Everyone - you did yourselves, and the school, proud."
