A Largs performer is hoping to hit the right notes as she returns to the Barrfields Theatre stage for the first time in over a decade.

Amy Allan will perform as part of Little Fix, a Little Mix tribute band, in a highly anticipated show on Saturday night.

The talented singer and dancer moved to London at just 16 to pursue her dreams and has worked all over the world since graduating from performance school.

Amy said: “I went to Brisbane Primary and Largs Academy, and was also a member of Karen Aitchison School of Dancing for many years.

“The school was like a second home to me and I performed on the stage at Barrfields many times, including in a Largs talent show.

“I moved down to London to pursue a career and graduated from Urdang Academy with a diploma in musical theatre and dance.

“Luckily I secured my first job as a performer on a cruise ship based in the Caribbean and the Baltics, so I was able to see the world while singing and dancing for a living.”

Amy reveals her career was hit hard by the pandemic, but says it also helped her find her current role in Little Fix.

She explained: “When all the cruises were cancelled I moved back home to Largs and was sent a post one day about auditions for tribute bands, including Little Fix.

“I went to a few auditions and got the role as Perrie which was amazing as I was a big fan of the band and knew a lot of their songs.

“We replicate the costumes as close as possible, sing the exact same parts and generally do a lot of research to make ourselves as authentic as possible.

“We even got free tickets to go and see them in Glasgow on their last tour which was amazing and a bit surreal.”

Largs and Millport Weekly News:

Amy has travelled around the UK performing at festivals, holiday parks and nightclubs as part of Little Fix, and even flew to Ibiza for a gig.

However, she says coming back to Largs and Barrfields will be extra special, with family and friends cheering her on.

She added: “I did multiple shows at Barrfields with Karen Aitchison, but that was about 12 or 13 years ago.

“I can’t wait to show my bandmates a bit of my hometown because they are honesty like a family to me now.

“A lot of people are coming out to support me and I’m sure all that love will give me a little extra boost of energy on the night.”

Little Fix will perform as part of The Ultimate POP Party alongside tribute acts of Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa on Saturday, June 3.
