The iconic RAF Hercules aircraft will fly over parts of North Ayrshire on its farewell flight around the UK.
The C-130 Hercules is retiring from RAF service, and an aircraft will fly right around the UK today (June 14) before landing for the final time.
The aircraft left RAF Brize Norton at 10am, and is expeced to fly over Arran and Cumbrae around midday on its way to RAF Lossiemouth.
The Hercules will be escorted by RAF Typhoon fighters, so multiple aircraft will be seen in the sky.
An RAF spokesperson said: "The first Hercules arrived at Marshall’s of Cambridge in December 1966 Hercules.
"Since entering RAF service, originally with 242 Operational Conversion Unit at RAF Thorney Island, it has operated across the globe in support of UK military and humanitarian relief operations."
