Angry residents have hit out after rubbish was left piling up BESIDE a bin at a Largs beauty spot.

One of our camera club members posted up the photo of the litter issue.

Ian Dalgleish said: "This is a picture of the Largs Marina car park on June 15. So, who is to blame?"

Largs woman Caroline Le Good Morgan, who is one of the pioneers behind the restoration of Douglas Park, was disgusted at the sight.

She said: "If they brought all those in a bag or a box, then they are to blame because they could've taken that away with it when they saw that the bin was full.

"Some countries have a no bin policy and you are required to take your letter away with you."

Largs Community Council has also been operating a Love Largs - Don't Litter campaign around the town throughout the past six months, getting local businesses and schools involved.

The litter campaign group was disappointed to see the latest misdemeanour.

Robbie Stevenston, who lives in Bellesdale Avenue, said: "I have seen this happening in Largs at a burn near where I live.

"There was a group of kids and staying in a tent and singing and having a good laugh and that is fine - but the next morning I found all the litter had been left - it had all been assembled together, but there were bags and bags of it.

"Who do they expect to come and pick it all up? The litter fairy?

"We need everyone to be responsible and if they have litter - take it home and put it into a bin for the good of the local environment."
