The Brooksby Medical Centre in Largs has given a fond farewell to one of its GPs - with hopes he can return in future to the practice.
In a special message on its Facebook page, the Largs Medical Group offered 'Good luck and 'Bon voy-raj' to Dr Shivraj Vittalraj.
They stated: "Today, we are wishing Dr Shivraj Vittalraj, affectionately known as Dr Raj, the best of luck as he leaves Largs Medical Group.
"Dr Raj has been a great support and a well-liked GP, to the patients of Largs and Fairlie, over the past two years as he undertook his GP Training. Dr Raj is now moving on to his final GP Practice to complete his training.
"Good luck Dr Raj and hopefully we'll see you again once you've completed your training - from all at Largs Medical Group."
iin an interview given in March to the British Medical Association online publication, GP registrar Shivraj Vittalraj stated that is looking forward with enthusiasm to a career in general practice.
He said: "It’s an amazing field. I feel the patient-doctor relationship is great in this specialty because I’m looking at the patient as a whole. It’s the continuity of care – you’re the family doctor.
"You’re not treating them as a problem [in isolation] – it’s more of a complete package, and I’m very happy with that."
