THE crew of the RNLI's Largs lifeboat made a big splash in the Gogo Burn with their annual rubber duck race.

The annual Largs RNLI Duck Race took place at the bridge near the Morrisons roundabout on Saturday, July 15.

Volunteer crew members from Largs RNLI were deployed into the burn to safety escort the small yellow competitors as they raced down the burn, avoiding rocks, branches and even real life ducks along the way.

In total 1,600 rubber ducks were released into the burn for the big race, with crowds cheering on from the bridges and bankside along the route.

Linn Munton, fundraising chair at Largs RNLI, said, ‘It was fantastic to see so many people out supporting the Largs RNLI Duck Race.

"My thanks go to all involved in arranging this quacking event, and to all of those who bought a ticket.

As a charity we rely on the donations and support we get from the public. This is what enables us to continue saving lives at sea."
