A former Largs seafront bar failed to sell at auction on Thursday - with the deadline for bids extended.

The former Albert's Bar, which has been closed for a number of years, went under the hammer at Future Property Auctions on July 27 with a guide price of £107,000.

Despite three bids being received for the property, the premises is now back on the market with a new deadline of August 3 at 3pm.

A new guide price of £125,000 has been set, and bids are now being welcomed for the current owner to consider.

Largs and Millport Weekly News:

Future Property Auctions describes the commercial property as a 'Rare Largs Class 3 restaurant/bar opportunity', a 'perfect investment and development opportunity', and 'ideal for owner, occupation or investment'.

An attractive opportunity for potential bidders, it has a rateable value of £10,000 so it therefore qualifies for small business rates relief.

The freehold opportunity is based in Gallowgate Street, and been many different guises over the years, including the town's first internet cafe in the 1990s - Cafe Norge - when punters paid for a pint and dial-up internet.
