AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL investigation is set to start on land in West Kilbride next week.
Persimmon West Scotland will be undertaking the work ahead of building its future housing development alongside the A78 trunk road.
The 220-home development on Portencross Road was approved by planners earlier this year, but work has not yet started, with final financial contracts still to be signed.
Kevin Murphy, planning manager for the developer, emailed residents to alert them to the work, stating: "I am emailing to advise that an archaeological investigation will commence on-site next week and is expected to last for five days.
"The archaeologists have been advised to take access from Portencross Road."
