School pupils across North Ayrshire will return to the classroom next week following the summer holidays.

Here are all the school term dates, holidays and teacher in-service days for mainland schools and Cumbrae for the 2023/2024 term.

Pupils will return to school on Monday, August 21, following two staff in-service days on August 17 and 18.

School staff will also have an in-service day on Monday, September 18, with all pupils off on this date.

Schools will close for the October holidays on Friday, October 13, and will reopen on Monday, October 23, and pupils will also be off school on November 17 and 20.

Pupils will break off for Christmas on Friday December 22, and will return just over two weeks later on Monday January 8.

In 2024, schools will close for the February holidays on Thursday, February 8, with schools reopening on Wednesday, February 14 following a staff in-service day.

Schools will close for the Easter holidays on Thursday, March 28, and will not reopen until Monday, April 15.

The following month, pupils are off on May 6, 24, and 27. Schools will close for the summer holidays on Friday, June 28.

On Arran, schools close for the October holidays one week earlier on Friday, October 6, coming back on Monday, October 23.

In February, Arran schools will be off on Monday, February 12 for an in-service day, but will have no other holidays during this month.
