TABLE tennis players in Largs are set to swing - and ping - back into action, and they're looking for new members.

The new season for Largs Table Tennis Club begins on Wednesday, August 30, with sessions taking place thereafter every Wednesday from 7-9pm in the Inverclyde Sports Centre.

The club was set up towards the end of 2022 and is already reporting a story of success.

Club secretary Paul Carson said: "We intend to make progress on our growth in our first year, and continue to draw in players from not only Largs but surrounding towns.

"We’ve got players coming in from Stevenston, Saltcoats, Dalry and elsewhere. Everyone’s welcome."

The club opens its doors to players from all age groups and abilities.

Club chairman Gordon McKinstry added: "It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out. Come along.

"What’s more, we’re putting three members through a Level 1 coaching course in September and October, so if improving is your goal, we want to provide the means to do that.

"If you just want to have fun, no problem. The club is open to all comers."

Largs TTC started only last year and has gained a sizeable membership in just eight months.

Let’s hope in the 2023/24 season the club will continue on the up and up!
