A van delivering school meals to pupils on Cumbrae will be given priority boarding on the ferry to the island after concerns by residents.
At present, school meals for Cumbrae Primary are made at Largs Campus before being driven down to the ferry and transported across the water.
However, concerns had been raised that long queues on busy days could mean children missing out on meals if the vehicle was stuck.
Councillor Todd Ferguson has now confirmed that the issue has been rectified after discussions with Caledonian MacBrayne.
He said: "A wee while ago concerned residents raised the issue about the school meals catering van not being on the CalMac priority list.
"After ongoing negotiations between North Ayrshire Council and CalMac, I am pleased to announce that this issue has been rectified and the van will now be a priority boarding."
