Motorists are being reminded of roadworks near the entrance to Hunterston Estate - with tailbacks in both directions this afternoon.
Amey is also carrying out maintenance works in the area throughout this week, until Friday (October 6).
Other works in the area are being carried out by Openreach involving splicing and copper jointing within exiting ductlines and manholes.
These works are scheduled for two working days, from today.
Stop/Go signs are in operation while these works take place.
Further Openreach works are due to be in place on the A78 in West Kilbride later this week, from Wednesday till Friday, in Seamill.
Local motorists have reported tailbacks in both directions.
