The Fish Works, based on Largs seafront, has been shortlisted in the Top 10 for this year's Field to Frier category at the 2024 National Fish and Chip Awards.

Co-owner Tiffany Irvin said: "This officially means that we know our spuds inside and out and this helps us to prepare in store the best chips for our customers to enjoy.

"We are hoping to progress into the final stages where we can represent Largs, Scotland and the Fish and Chip Industry especially our hard working potato producers and suppliers."

The Field to Frier category at the 2024 National Fish and Chip Awards is sponsored by Isle of Ely Produce and Agrico UK - Babylon.

The nominations are mounting up for The Fish Works in Largs as awards season approaches.

We recently reported how The Fish Works features in the Top 40 finalists for Fish and Chip Takeaway of the Year 2024.

Tiffany Irvin, co-owner of The Fish Works, said: "The team are absolutely delighted to be in the Top 40 again this year. After scooping third place last year we are hoping to bring it back to Largs and Scotland.

"After the awards in February we had a sit down with our team and chatted on how we can improve on what we already did to go that step further and hopefully win Takeaway of the Year. We highlighted some procedures we could implement and improve on, from things like mental health within our team, collecting customer feedback and upgrading our customer loyalty programme, offering vouchers and discount codes to help with the cost of living crisis.

"It’s been a hard year with all the increases in oil, raw produce, utilities and the cost of inflation. But we feel we have managed to navigate it well producing a product with high quality local fresh ingredients cooked to order at an affordable price and we have continued our commitment to our local community with our many sponsorships and ongoing support to many groups and charities.

"We would like to thank the Fish Works Team for their hard work and dedication and our customers for their continued support. We couldn’t do it without you all.

"We are also delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted in the Top 10 for this year's Field to Frier category at the 2024 National Fish and Chip Awards."
