A NEW mental health group for men is set to launch in Largs next week.

North Ayrshire Council is set to launch Mindful Mandate for men over 18 living in the North Coast on Tuesday, November 7.

It is an opportunity to meet with other like-minded people and support peers.

The meetings will be held every Tuesday from 1-2.30pm in the community room in Largs library where members will participate in indoor and outdoor activities, visit places of interest and have access to relevant information for mental health.

We previously reported that the town hosted the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, led by the Mental Health Foundation.

It was the biggest event of its kind in the world, as the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival 2023 explored the theme Revolution.

In the midst of political and economic turbulence, the festival confronted the impact of economic barriers and social inequality on mental health, and asked ‘how we can do things differently?’

The theme was explored creatively through music, film, theatre, art and other events across Scotland, including many events programmed by community groups and community-focused organisations, reflecting the festival’s ‘grassroots up’ approach.
