Police in North Ayrshire have issued a warning to residents after reports of a quad bike theft from a farm in North Ayrshire.
Officers are reminding people of the preventative measures they can take to reduce the chance of theft and increase the likelihood of detection and recovery.
Police say good security in rural environments is essential, with quad bikes and all-terrain vehicles among the items most likely to be stolen.
Advice to protect similar vehicles include parking as close to the premises as possible, preferably out of sight of nearby roads.
Tips also include removing keys when not in use, fitting wheel clamps, parking larger vehicles in front of access doors, marking or customising your property, and adding tracking devices for high value vehicles and machinery.
