St Mary's Primary 7 pupils in Largs were in seventh heaven this week as they enjoyed a series of outdoor activities on the Isle of Arran.
The pupils enjoyed doing some climbing and rock pooling, as well as a number of other outdoor events as they got to experience the great outdoors in a highly educational and beneficial experience which was enjoyed by all.
Their first afternoon saw the intrepid adventurers heading to the woods for 'The Survival Game'. They were very excited to win the hotly contested ‘Top Owl,’ ‘Volemeister’ and ‘Slug of the Week’ titles.
Other activities included canoeing, mountain biking and orienteering. Despite the rain, everyone had a great day pushing themselves out of our comfort zones, working together, learning new skills and most importantly having fun.
Pupils also completed some conservation work by surveying the local wildlife and reporting their sightings.
A school spokesperson said: "Huge thanks to all staff at the Arran Outdoors Centre for making our residential experience so special and memorable."
Pupils also had fun learning the important features of maps and how to interpret and set them to complete a star orienteering challenge around the grounds of the outdoor centre.
