Largs Foodbank has been paid a visit by the chief of the local fire crew.

Paul Lamont brought donations for the foodbank from the town's fire station, which follows on from the crew's Santa drive-through fundraiser.

A spokesperson for Largs Foodbank said: "We received this wonderful donation yesterday from Paul and our friends at the fire station in Largs.

"Thank you - much appreciated."

Largs Fire Station have thanked everyone who turned up and made the Santa drive-through a success earlier this month.

A spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who turned up and made our Santa drive through a great success.

"We are delighted to say that we made approximately £600 for the Firefighters Charity and lots of donations of foodstuffs for Largs Food Bank.

"We couldn’t have done it without all the donations of selection boxes we received from all the people and shops.

"Daniel McKinnon, Rosemary Giovino, Isobel Milroy, Kirsty Gilmore, Morrisons, Co-op, Tom Smith WK Ltd Plumbing & Heating, Maggie Boag, Iain and Nicola Macdonald, Largs Masonic Club and The Bosuns Table.

"Thank you to David Paton for being Santa, to Erin McDonald and Macie McDonald for being Santa's elves, and to Paul Gregory for the music system and light.

"Next year's is in the planning already and we hope it’s as big a success as this year's event."
