OUR latest stroll down memory lane sees us take a look at the changing retail scene of Fairlie over the course of the last 50 years.
The village used to have a number of thriving businesses, including clothes shops, hotels and newsagents, and looked much different to today, where it only has a few.
However, there are exciting times coming in February with a new takeaway coming in the shape of Grill'd, next to Michelle's roll shop.
But if we turn the clock back to the 70s and 80s, the village had a number of shops including post office, two newsagents, a clothes shop and the Fairlieburne Hotel too, as well as the Kelburn Hotel.
The clothes shop, McCallum's, is pictured above after a blaze broke out at the premises in the 1990s which sadly hastened its demise.
Also pictured (below) is the Kelburn Hotel, which existed until the early 2000s and was a very popular watering hole down the years, with a pool table and function room area.
