LARGS firefighters rushed to reports of a car on fire on the Haylie Brae in the town.
The incident happened at 9.49pm on Thursday, December 21.
Eyewitnesses contacted the News to say that they had seen a car catch fire on the road between Largs and Kilbirnie.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed the incident, and said: "We were called to a report of a vehicle on fire on the A760.
"We sent one mobile appliance and it left the scene at 11.04pm.
"There were no casualties but the vehicle, a private car, was a write-off."
