The traditional music showcase in Largs brought a business boost to local pubs as revellers headed out to enjoy some top tunes.

The George Bar, in Main Street, was jam-packed for the popular Atlantic Disco scene, which was a great success from start to finish on January 2.

A spokesperson for Atlantic Disco said they were "wowed" by the crowd reaction to their disco event.

A spokesperson said: "We always say it, but January 2 in The George, Largs, is absolutely amazing - it is the best way to start the New Year!

"Thank you to everyone who came along and partied with us. Here’s to many more great parties in 2024!"

Sharps Bar, in Nelson Street, also had a packed schedule with Rheumatoid Rockers, Best Bad Influence, Blue Horizon, Jeff and Craig Scott.

This is a clip of Blue Horizon's set - see below - as The Doors were recreated in the popular live music venue.

And Sharps was also busy with a New Year's Party with Zander Nation.

It was a case of putting on your blue suede shoes as the Waterside Bar, in Bath Street, enjoyed the magic of Elvis Presley with its popular tribute act followed by Deville.

And if anyone missed out on January 2, or wanted to enjoy more musical entertainment, they could head to Ye Old Anchor Inn.

The pub traditionally holds its music night a day later on January 3, and it was a celebration of traditional Scottish music, including local musicians Lynn Matthews and Caroline Le Good Morgan.

Largs and Millport Weekly News:

The annual bash in Ye Olde Anchor Inn included a total of 11 musicians and provided four hours' worth of top entertainment for revellers.

Violinists, accordionists and flautists of the Old Anchor Inn Band all provided some toe-tapping traditional tunes to round off the festivities.
