The West Kilbride Museum is hosting a new display about the people and history of Portencross and Hunterston.

The museum, based on the upper level of the village hall, is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Its opening hours are from 10.30pm to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm.

Portencross Castle is situated overlooking the Firth of Clyde near West Kilbride.

It is a scheduled ancient monument, which is a recognition of its national importance.

This week also marks the two-year anniversary of the closure of Hunterston B power station.
