There have been reports of long traffic queues in Largs today due to roadworks as a problematic manhole is repaired.
The broken manhole was reported on Friday morning with Independent councillor Ian Murdoch following up the case on behalf of constituents.
The broken manhole is on the A78 in Largs Main Street, near Robert Duff solicitors.
Motorists say the tailbacks go as far as The Brisbane House Hotel on the north side of town.
Cllr Murdoch explained: "The roadworks taking place today are because of the broken manhole cover.
"Be prepared for long queues and delays in Largs Town Centre as the utility company carry out the necessary repairs."
Cllr Murdoch praised the road services for attending to the matter after he drove his vehicle over it on Friday morning, and personally reported the problem,
