Local snappers captured some incredible photos of the stunning sunset over the Firth of the Clyde yesterday, with the possibility of more coming this evening.
It is a sure sign that the days are getting longer as the sunsets get later in the day and give hope that spring is just around the corner as we enter the first day of February on Thursday.
And the radiant warm colours of the impressive sunset were a welcome change from the repeated stormy weather throughout recent weeks.
One such example of that is the photo by acclaimed West Kilbride photographer Peter Ribbeck above just 24 hour after waves at high tide battered the Portencross Pier - and a week after Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn caused damage at the historic setting popular with anglers and photographrs alike.
Peter said: "It was a beautiful sky on the Ayrshire coast. You can see the new damage to the pier in this photo."
Look and admire at some of the stunning shots below from our camera club members, and local residents.
