THE close link between Largs and The Beatles - through John Lennon's late cousin, Stan Parkes, who lived in the town until his death in 2016 - is fairly well known, at least to dedicated fans of the Fab Four.

And our latest look back at the pictures that appeared in the Wee Paper 20 years ago this week includes our report on a visit made by Stan to Brisbane Primary School in his adopted home town.

Largs and Millport Weekly News: IMAGINE: Local man Stanley Parks visited Brisbane Primary School in Largs to talk about the life and lyrics of his famous cousin, John Lennon. John was one of the ‘fab four’ - The Beatles - who took the sixties music world by storm. Imagine is one of the most famous songs penned by John Lennon before he died and one that envisages a world without prejudice towards race, colour or creed.
