A POPULAR sandwich shop on the waterfront of Largs is looking for new operators.

Bids are being sought for the Subway franchise on Gallowgate Street - which has been run by the same operator for the last 15 years.

The premises have an annual rental of £17,000 and a guide price of £95,000 for the leasehold interest in the property, as well as all the fixtures and fittings.

An online listing for the property states that "full support and training [will be] offered by the franchise".

The premises - located between two other food businesses, the Viking chip shop and the Curry King takeaway - are currently open from 10am until 8pm.

The online listing for the property at the website of commercial property agents Daltons Business states that "the subjects are held on the basis of a FRI lease to June 2032".

Under the usual terms of an FRI lease - FRI standing for 'full repair and insurance' - all the costs of repairs and insurance to the premises are usually the responsibility of the tenant.

The listing states: "[This is] a fantastic opportunity to take on a very well presented and well run Subway franchise located in the heart of the hugely popular North Ayrshire town.

"This unit is very well presented with good quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Our client has operated the Subway franchise here since 2009 and has enjoyed a good level of trade both to locals and to visitors to the area. There is a new 10 year lease from June 2022."
