In this week's dive back into the past, we look back to 50 years ago in Largs district, recalling the days of the Millport paddling pool, and a police supper dance, while dancing tots took to the stage.
Anne McAnerney provided us with the above photograph of a BB inspection in the year 1974.
Anne's father Alastair Goldie is the first flag bearer on the left.

It was the same year in which the hit BBC TV police drama 'Dixon of Dock Green broadcast one highly popular episode which featured Sergeant Dixon issuing CID officers with firearms, who were set to mount a raid on a gang of robbers, believed to be armed, in the highest rated episode of the show from 1955-1976.
The programme is currently getting a repeat screening in its traditional Saturday night slot on the Talking Pictures channel on Sky. Sadly a total of 400 episodes of the 432 episodes originally shown have been wiped, and no longer survive in the archives.

And a disco dance was held by Largs Youth Panel at Barrfields in 1974.
Groundbreaking tunes of the period included 'Rebel Rebel' by David Bowie to 'Killer Queen' by Queen and 'Waterloo' as Abba burst onto the stage, with the ever popular Bay City Rollers with 'Shang-a-Lang'.
