Residents have turned up at Largs recycling centre this afternoon to find the coup closed.
One local motorist contacted the News stating that there were no signs up when they arrived at the centre on the A760 between Largs and Kilbirnie to find it was closed - forcing them to take their waste elsewhere in North Ayrshire.
Our correspondent said: "I will have to drive on to the next one in Kilbirnie now as my car is packed full."
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: "Unfortunately Largs Household Waste Recycling Centre will be closed until Monday (19 Feb) due to issues with water supply."
