RUMOURS that McDonald's would be setting up a restaurant in Largs have been fiercely denied by a local councillor.
At lunchtime on Thursday a post appeared on the Facebook page of North Coast independent councillor Ian Murdoch stating that McDonald's would be opening up in the former M&Co building, next to the railway station, in 2026.
However, Councillor Murdoch has now contacted the News to say the original post was not from him and that the rumours were false.
He said: "My Facebook has been hacked. McDonald's story is nonsense."
