In this week's delve into the archives, we head back to the summer of 1975 and the presentation of the Brisbane Queen ceremony in all its pomp.
The spectacular week long event, which celebrated Largs born Sir Thomas Brisbane's links to Australia, was a grand occasion in the town as the crowning ceremony of Marie Anne Lundy shows.
George Jackson is pictured with the microphone, while the maids of honour are pictured in beautiful tartan dresses for the occasion.
Skelmorlie Primary pupils, no doubt inspired by North Ayrshire football star Lou Macari from Largs, were pictured in their football outfits in the district schools league.
