Two police officers were allegedly assaulted in an incident in Largs at the weekend.
Police were alerted to a disturbance in the town's Kelvin Street on Saturday May 11.
Police Scotland say the incident led to a member of the public first resisting officers' attempts to arrest him and then to his assaulting two officers.
Police confirmed an arrest was made and that a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
Details of the incident were included in the monthly round-up of police activity supplied to members of Largs Community Council for their latest meeting.
