The organisers of a new Largs food and drink festival have confirmed a former contestant of BBC TV show Masterchef the Professionals will be cooking up a storm at the event.

Largs Events and SHS Events will be hosting the event on Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2 on the promenade and the festival is open to all businesses and traders.

And the event has secured the signing of Rohan Wadke for the big weekend.

Rohan impressed judges - including Greig Wallace, Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti - with his culinary skills when he featured on featured on BBC’s Masterchef the Professionals in 2016, and he has been in high demand ever since.

Chair of Largs Events Ian Murdoch said: "As well as 40 market stalls, there will be 10 pop ups and 10 Street food stalls, while Largs Events is also excited to be offering free cooking demos with Rohan Wadke of Rohan's Kitchen, and currently hosting pop-up dining experiences at Cameron House on Loch Lomond.

"We are delighted to have Rohan to cook for us again this time in Largs in our cooking tent.

"Rohan will be demonstrating some of his signature dishes from his own restaurant in Clarkston, Rohans Kitchen.

"Watch as Rohan takes us through the cooking process. He'll also be sharing some great tips and advice to make things easier for us all.

"Rohan’s cooking demonstrations don’t need to be booked but we’d recommend turning up ten minutes before they start to ensure a seat.

"We will be announcing the demo times and dishes soon."

Rohan combines the knack of home cooking with experience of working with esteemed restaurants like Cinnamon Club London and Gilpin Lake House in Lake District and featured as a part of prestigious show of Professional Master Chef in 2016. 

Largs Events will be hosting continental foods, packaged foods, street food, off sales alcohol, cakes and bakes, Jams, chutneys and butters, craft items including jewellery, fashion, dog fashion and food, artwork and more.

This will be a free, fun, family event located on Largs Promenade and it runs from 10am to 6pm each day.

There will be family activities including cooking demos, classes, and kids entertainers and face painters.

Street food includes international offerings such as  Lebanese in a Van, Yuriko, and Korean fried chicken Katsu curry.

Bakers include 3 sisters bakes, Big Daft Cakes, M J Bakes, Tea in the square, To die for desserts

Largs Events is also putting preparations in place for live music and a licensed bar.
