£4,000 raised for RNLI at special Inverkip Chartroom event

The event was organised by the RNLI's Inverkip, Wemyss Bay and Skelmorlie branch for the lifeboat's 200th anniversary year and included a ‘showcase’ of performance and outdoor clothing by Kip Chandlery, modelled by RNLI volunteers.

Dorothy Stewart, a member of the committee, said: ‘Whether you’re a leisure sailor,  you or a family member earn a living from the sea, or your daughters or grandsons are paddleboarders, if you need help on the sea, the lifeboat will answer your call. 

"We are so lucky to have tremendous support here in the three villages and this year we decided to do something a bit bigger for this special anniversary year and are delighted with how much we’ve raised.

"We’re very grateful to Kip Marina, our major sponsors; Motor Manicure, Direct Roofing and Pearson's and each and every local business who sponsored this event.

"Huge thanks to our models, Moira Givens, Caroline Scott and Anna Mackay, and father and  son Ross and Bruce Benson; to the duo 10 Strings who provided us with such beautiful music, and to Norman Burniston and Dave Currie.
