Children and adults alike were thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

Mary Currie, a former Millport correspondent for the News, whose granddaughter Lily-Rose Currie played Matilda, was lavish in her praise for the production.

She said: "Big shout out to all the kids, teachers and helpers for the amazing Matilda the musical. The talent shown by all the children was amazing. Well done."
